History was made at Cambusbarron Bowling Club last night as Polmaise's own Gary Malcomson lifted the 2025 District Champion of Champions title — becoming the only player ever to win it four times.
Played in front of a strong and appreciative crowd, the final saw Gary take on a familiar rival — Kevin Frogley of Borestone. The pair had met just weeks earlier in the Scottish District Singles Qualifiers on 24th June, where Kevin narrowly took the win. This time, however, it was Gary who came out on top in a compelling rematch, securing a 21–12 victory in commanding fashion.
District organiser David Ferguson (Cambusbarron Bowling Club) praised both finalists for producing "top quality bowling on a tricky rink," adding that "both players made it look ridiculously easy" in what was a thrilling conclusion to the tournament.
Gary's fourth title cements his legacy as one of the most accomplished bowlers in district history. His ability to bounce back from recent disappointment only adds to his reputation.
Everyone at Polmaise Bowling Club is immensely proud of Gary's achievement and we congratulate him on this historic milestone.
