Saturday was a very special day at Polmaise Bowling Club as the club hosted a Hamilton Trophy fixture and celebrated a remarkable milestone for one of its most decorated players, Sandy Deans.
The occasion marked Sandy's 300th county cap, an outstanding achievement and a reflection of his long-standing dedication, consistency and contribution to the game of bowls.
To recognise the milestone, Sandy was given a guard of honour by fellow bowlers as he entered the green. It was a fitting tribute to a player who has represented both club and county with distinction over many years.
As part of the celebrations, Sandy was also presented with a special commemorative watch.
Sandy has been at the heart of many proud moments for Polmaise Bowling Club and continues to be one of the club's most respected figures. Reaching 300 county caps is a rare and impressive achievement, and everyone at Polmaise was delighted to see the occasion marked in such a memorable way.
After the event, Sandy shared a heartfelt message of thanks:
"I have had one of the best days of my life today. Polmaise Bowling Club looked after me so well and made me proud to be a member of this great club. They showed exactly how a special Hamilton Trophy county game should be done.
