POLMAISE TOP OF THE POPS!
Polmaise Bowling Club were the pride of Stirlingshire on Sunday when they became Scottish Top Ten Champions. In the finals of the inter-county tournament in Edinburgh they won the title with a fine win over Bonnyrigg Bowling Club by six points to two.
The final took place on the Blairfield green and the scores were:
- Singles - Polmaise (J. Blevins) 21, Bonnyrigg 19
- Pairs - Polmaise (S. Deans and P. Black) 25, Bonnyrigg 10
- Triples - Polmaise (J. Walker, W. Bone and R. Fulton) 15, Bonnyrigg 14
- Fours - Polmaise (H. Scott, J. Bone, A. Buchanan and J. Black) 5, Bonnyrigg 19
Earlier in the day, Polmaise disposed of Headwell Bowling Club in the semi-final played on Gorgie Mills green.
So the conquering heroes returned to Fallin on Sunday evening as Scottish Champions, bringing honour to the club, the village, and the County.
