WINNERS OF THE MACINTOSH TROPHY
Polmaise and Bridge of Allan Bowling Clubs met in a four-rink game at Spittalmyre green on Saturday to decide the ownership of the Macintosh Trophy. Presented by Provost Macintosh for competition among clubs of the Stirling and District Bowling League the Cup has been won three times by both clubs during its ten years' existence.
The final game on Saturday was played in accordance with the rule that the Cup should become the property of the club to win it the greatest number of times. The game was very close, and before the last rink came in only 1 shot separated the clubs. Polmaise, however, finished strongly to win by 4 shots.

Historical Note: This victory was particularly significant as it granted Polmaise permanent ownership of the prestigious Macintosh Trophy. After a decade of competition between clubs in the Stirling and District Bowling League, both Polmaise and Bridge of Allan had won the cup three times each. This final, decisive match—with its nail-biting finish where Polmaise came from behind to win by just 4 shots—determined that the trophy would remain forever at Fallin. The match featured some of the club's most notable players, including J. Gwynne Sr. and Jr., who would later face each other in the famous 1942 club championship final.
